SWG Imports and Southern Wine Group, (SWG) announced Monday, June 2nd that it has adopted Elixir Wine Group as its new company name. SWG has been importing high quality wines from Latin America since 2001. Over the last 18 months, the company expanded its European Elixir portfolio to include select wines from Spain, Italy, France and Portugal. C. Kirk Ermisch, President of Elixir Wine Group says, "the transition to Elixir Wine Group is much more than a simple logo refresh. It represents our commitment to the lasting success of our company, customers and partners throughout the U.S. and a dedication to offering a wider selection of iconic wines to consumers. The decision to rebrand as Elixir Wine Group is a proactive move to reflect the exciting changes that we are undergoing as a company with the expansion of our top shelf portfolio and the increased sales growth we are seeing across the United States. Key to this development will include recognizing the long term efforts of two company veterans. Jeff Miller is promoted to V.P. National Sales and Jenny Long becomes V.P. Finance & Operations."
Considered a pioneer in sourcing high quality wines from independent Latin American producers, Elixir Wine Group looks forward to introducing new European wines to American wine drinkers with a continued emphasis on its core producers as well as company touchstones of excellence, value and extraordinary customer service.
SWG and Elixir’s founder, C. Kirk Ermisch has been importing and producing wines for nearly two decades. In addition to personally reviving and operating the Bodega Calle winery in Mendoza, Argentina originally founded in 1925 and making the critically acclaimed Ermisch Pinot Noir from the Willamette Valley of Oregon, Ermisch is also the Executive Producer of the film, "Boom Varietal: the Rise of Argentine Malbec", which documents the past, present, and future of the en vogue grape variety, Malbec, Argentina's most widely recognized wine.
