In Support of Diversity!

Kirk Ermisch - Monday, November 07, 2016

On this day ahead of the election, I wanted to make a statement about diversity. I have devoted a good deal of time towards the study of this subject. SWG Imports & Southern Wine Group announce unification under Elixir Wine Group

Kirk Ermisch - Monday, June 02, 2014

SWG Imports and Southern Wine Group, (SWG) announced Monday, June 2nd that it has adopted Elixir Wine Group as its new company name. SWG has been importing high quality wines from Latin America since 2001. Over the last 18 months, the company expanded its European Elixir portfolio to include select wines from Spain, Italy, France and Portugal. C. Kirk Ermisch, President of Elixir Wine Group says, "the transition to Elixir Wine Group is much more than a simple logo refresh. It represents our commitment to the lasting success of our company, customers and partners throughout the U.S. and a dedication to offering a wider selection of iconic wines to consumers.  The decision to rebrand as Elixir Wine Group is a proactive move to reflect the exciting changes that we are undergoing as a company with the expansion of our top shelf portfolio and the increased sales growth we are seeing across the United States. Key to this development will include recognizing the long term efforts of two company veterans. Jeff Miller is promoted to V.P. National Sales and Jenny Long becomes V.P. Finance & Operations."    More...

If you are looking for a gutsy, traditional style, terroir-driven Malbec bottling (something we come across less and less in these days of heavy extraction and new oak), you will be thrilled. While the wine shows plenty of the delicious boysenberry and plum fruit that make this varietal so popular, it is the wine's beguiling earthy, mushroomy notes and slippery texture that make it memorable. The timing cannot be better, as Carmelo's Malbec is perfect with fall foods - think roast chicken with fresh chantrelles or pumpkin risotto with guanciale. More...
